Today is the beginning of our 15th week waiting for our LOSC (Letter of Seeking Confirmation), and we're all crossing our fingers and toes around here that this is THE WEEK for us! We had been hoping for our LOSC to come around week number 12 (November 11th), but it can take up to 16 weeks for them to come, so I think we're still within the "normal" range (is there a "normal" anymore in the adoption world??). Although this wait has been really emotional at times for all of us, we also have a sense of peace in knowing that we're soooo very close to holding our Maia in our arms! Our dream of having Maia home for Christmas this year doesn't seem likely anymore, which breaks our hearts beyond words. There's no way for me to describe how much it hurts to know that our Maia won't be feeling the joy and enjoying the festivities in a loving family during the holidays. No child should ever have to spend Christmas in an orphanage....let alone three Christmases. What is the most heartbreaking is that we will be missing the holidays by only a few short weeks. Yet we continue trusting that our God is good and His timing in all things is perfect. Thank you, everyone, for hanging in there with us as the waiting continues.........What a day it will be when we finally hold our girl in our arms!!
