What Are We Waiting For?

Almost daily I've been hearing our favorite question, "When will you be bringing Maia home?". Even though it's been sooo hard for us and for our family to endure the endless cycles of hurry up and wait, we really are on the home stretch! At the moment, we're waiting for the CCAA (China Center for Adoption Affairs) to review all of our paperwork, which usually takes about 12 weeks. Our paperwork has been "in review" about 6 weeks now. After the review period, the CCAA will send us a letter called the LOSC (Letter of Seeking Confirmation). It's the final confirmation that we truly want to bring Maia home and become her parents (Seems silly to need to send this letter, doesn't it?!). After our LOSC comes, we should be in China within 6 weeks. If I map all of this out on our calendar, it's looking like we'll be traveling over the Christmas holiday or even early January. All along, our hope was to bring Maia home before Christmas, and we're still praying for that miracle! Either way, it will be lots of fun to do some Christmas shopping for our newest little angel this year:) So that's where we are, and to be honest, we're really doing okay with it (at the moment!).
