Relaxing in Guangzhou

Today we're enjoying a low key day together in Guangzhou. SuSu hopped right into the bath again this morning, but wasn't too happy with Mommy when I tried to rinse her hair. She loves to play with the cups in the bathtub, but still isn't too sure about having her hair washed.

She really loves the barrets we found for her, and she has us put them in and out of her hair all day long. Sometimes she has four or six barrets in a time.

These are the city lights in Guangzhou around the lake outside our hotel. It's so pretty at night to see everything all lit up, and Peanut loves all the boats on the lake. We might try to take a boatride while we're here at the White Swan, although it's been foggy and rainy today. The temperatures are in the 70s and 80s, and it's very muggy.

This is a picture of SuSu and Peanut together back in Nanjing. SuSu likes having Peanut around, but isn't too sure when he climbs up on Mommy's lap. She gives him a funny look when he's snuggling with Mommy, and I think she's confused about why Mommy's holding him, too.

This is SuSu and Ren following behind Mark through the gardens near Lucy's. She adores Ren so much, and the two of them are inseparable! They were together for all three years in Wuxi and are such a comfort to each other. Thank goodness that Ren's family will be with us on the 14 hour flight home!

Each day we see a little bit more of SuSu's personality come out, but she's still a bit unsure about Daddy at times. She lets him come close and help her at times, but other times insists that Mommy does everything with her. We can see that she wants to trust him, but is still unsure. Last night she fell asleep in his arms at dinner, and that was a huge moment for Daddy.

Going in and out of the stores around town is really hard right now because SuSu wants one of everything. She wants to pick up things and quickly hide them in her pockets, which leads to all kinds of frustrations for her when she realizes she can't take them along. I think it will be a long time until we can take her out to the grocery store at home!

We're all beginning to feel pretty homesick now and are so anxious to be in our own beds. The White Swan is a beautiful hotel, and I'll try to upload some pictures of the waterfalls and fish ponds inside here tommorrow. Nana is still very sick with a bad cold, so please continue to pray that she would begin feeling better and that the rest of us will stay healthy. We love you all and miss you! We can't believe our adventures here are almost done!
