We recieved some wonderful today from another family who recently adopted their little girl from the same orphanage where Maia is from! This news was so amazing to us as we have been praying for this very connection, although we realized it may be very unlikely. It's been on my heart for the past few weeks to pray that we would somehow find another family nearby who has adopted a child from Maia's orphanage so that our daughter would have a familiar friend to grow up with. I knew this was a big request as families from Maine to Alaska have been adopting children from Wuxi, but I continued praying for this miracle. Then, last evening, a message came across our yahoo group asking for our family to respond! The message read that this family had just returned from Wuxi in April with their two year old daughter, and they had been showing her pictures of our Maia. When she saw Maia's face, she went nuts saying "Su Su....Su Su!". Apparently our daughter and this little girl are very close friends. This family went on to ask where we were from, stating they were from a city only 45 minutes from our home! This was when tears came to my eyes!! Our girls are only three months apart in age and probably been together since birth in Wuxi. And now they'll only be living 45 minutes apart here in the US. What an amazing connection and answer to our prayers! What a comfort to know that God hears the details of our prayers!
